Helping Kids Learn the Skills for Living & Play!

Therapy in Play, PLLC performs therapeutic evaluation, intervention, and consultation services to the birth to 21 year old population in the greater Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area and the 3 to 21 year old population in the Spokane, Washington area. Providing pediatric therapy, our job is to help children achieve functional independence in all aspects of their lives, and have fun at the same time!  We can best help kids reach for this goal using activities that mean something to them and have a purpose they care about, which means we get to integrate and use therapy in play!

Therapy in Play, PLLC teaches "skills for the job of living," aiming for our little friends to be more independent, productive, and happily enjoy daily life.  We want the kids to be able to truly experience and participate in their lives, having fun while doing so.  We strive to encourage functional abilities and participation in meaningful activities, remediate disability, provide support to families, and collaborate with other agencies to ensure each child has the power to perform to the best of their abilities.  We strive for the successful smiles we see on the kids' faces!

Our therapists' treatment techniques and interventions develop neuromuscular, cognitive, perceptive, and sensory skills which are necessary for activities of daily living, education, self-care/self-help, work, social and leisure tasks, and of course, play.  When necessary, we assess the child’s skills and functional performance to determine the need for adaptive equipment, environmental modification, or assistive technology. Therapy not only helps individuals with physical, developmental, mental, and emotional disabilities to improve basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, and communication, but also compensate for skills not yet available that are necessary for functioning in daily life.
