Gaming Approaches Towards Education, LLC are mental health providers that promote individual and social wellness in our homes and community.
Years ago as therapist working in the home, we realized that gaming should not be limited to building rapport. Gaming could serve a greater purpose, it could create opportunities for families to come together, play together.
We found that the best games place emphasis on everyone's strengths. They make us think, feel, and adapt to different situations. We believe play can become practice for everyday life.
Our programs use tools such as board gaming, storytelling, role playing, sand tray, and Expressive arts in combination with a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy and AutPlay Therapy (Autism Play). This is for Child, Adolescent and Adult, depending on the client's need. We offer Individual and Group therapy. Social Skills development groups are also a option for individuals who need to learn and practice their social skills in a safe environment.

"The goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important, not the winning."
We started doing in home therapy over 10 years ago. It was intense, most of our families were in the middle of a major crisis. The kind of situations that pulls families apart, ends marriages, ends lives. Sometimes amid all that, there was a smile, laughter, something to build hope on.
Now we are not saying that gaming was the answer that it saved marriages or lives. But it did bring people together. As therapist we would sit with our families and play games with them, cooperate, take turns, create strategies. In those moments we found everything we needed to help families rebuild during therapy.
Today we use tabletop games, role-playing, and storytelling to build the foundation for positive change.
